Description
Hello, L'atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale today this superb Triumph TR6 PI Overdrive in this elegant configuration with its New White paintwork, black interior and matching soft top. The TR6 stands out in the manufacturer's catalogue, initially intended for the US market, this little British car is more muscular than its predecessors, this PI version develops 150hp and was reserved for the European market, rarer, more powerful: it is particularly appreciated by seasoned collectors.
Our example was registered on 06/ 04/ 1970 and was delivered new in France by Paris Monceau. It is in very good condition and is particularly pleasant to drive. The vehicle is a Matching Number as confirmed by the Heritage certificate supplied with the file. A thick file of invoices accompanies the vehicle for almost 17. 000 over the last 9 years . As a testament to its reliability , this car has taken part in numerous rally tours , including Italy , Austria , Sicily and various crossings of our beautiful country . The paintwork is in very good condition , the overall appearance is bright and there are no major defects . The chromes are perfectly gleaming . Inspection of the underpinnings reveals a particularly well cared for car , free from any perforating or structural corrosion .
The upholstery is in good condition overall and has a slight patina that adds to its charm. The burr walnut dashboard is superb and is accompanied by a door top set that adds a British touch and harmonises the interior. The top of the dashboard has no cracks and all the instrumentation works.
The original steering wheel has been replaced by a Moto-Lita, which provides a particularly pleasant road feel. The black vinyl soft top is in very good condition. We have two hard tops available as extras. One is made of fibre and the other of original sheet metal.
Mechanically, the car starts easily without noise or smoke, and revs up quickly.
The Lucas injection system has been overhauled and fitted with high-pressure stainless steel pipes. It was tuned at the end of 2023 by a Triumph specialist in the low Pqys who has BMC Approved accreditation. The fuel tank has been replaced by an aluminium model. The gearbox guides and locks its gears correctly and the overdrive is fully functional. A stainless steel exhaust system with a 6 in 2 manifold has been fitted and reveals a raucous sound typical of British 6-cylinders that leaves no one indifferent!
The suspension has been replaced by adjustable Koni shock absorbers which literally transform the ride. The original rims are fitted with Dunlop tyres which are in good condition.
