The birth of the DS : The DS19 was presented to the public in 1955 at the Paris Motor Show. Conceived by engineer André Lefèbvre and designer Flaminio Bertoni, it immediately captured the public's imagination with its revolutionary design, technological innovations and exceptional comfort. The silhouette of the DS was inspired by the fluidity of a drop of water. Its front tracks, which are wider than those at the rear, reinforce its dynamic allure.
