Magnificent Daf 55 in incredible original condition from the 2nd owner. Recently purchased by the grandfather of the last owner, it has remained in the family for no less than 54 years. The original registration and warranty certificate are still present. As are all the original locks, keys and key fobs. A very well maintained and cherished car. The 55 has been professionally repainted in the past in the original colour "Akwalo" and the quality of the paintwork is of a high standard. The paintwork appears to be original and therefore expertly done. It was done over 30 years ago, which is a great compliment. A Dinitrol treatment was also carried out at the time. The doors close like a safe and the seams are perfect. The colour is lovely on the car, it really is a classic baby blue. Newly delivered with rear window heating, coco mats and a lockable fuel cap, back in the day happiness was very common..... The interior is all original and a real time capsule. The seats are covered with the original upholstery and everything is in one piece. The dashboard is free of scratches and all the gauges work as they should. The steering wheel and headlining are also intact after 54 years. The rubber floor covering is remarkably well cared for, protected by sturdy coconut mats. The indestructible 1108cc Cléon-Fonte engine enjoys an excellent reputation. Renault has been building this engine in various models for years and for Daf it was a logical choice. The compact and powerful water-cooled 4-cylinder boosted sales and the brand was finally taken seriously.
This 55 has obviously been well maintained and drives very well! Just 60 km ago, the Daf underwent the necessary servicing, including new spark plugs and a carburettor cleaning. The variator isn't very quiet, but the Daf hasn't been driven much in recent years. The Michelin tyres are adequate, but they're not very young any more. There are spare belts. It's striking how light and comfortable this Daf is to drive and steer. We welcome you to Naarden, in the Gooimeer Zuid business park, just off the A1 motorway.
