Description
Launched in 1957, the XK 150 was the latest and most accomplished evolution of the XK convertible, with a body featuring softened lines and a single curved windscreen. Disc brakes were also introduced on this model. Production ended in 1961, and the model shown is a 1958 XK 150 DHC drop head coupé. Acquired in 1958 in the United States by an airline pilot who kept it until 1988, when it was imported into the UK, where it underwent a complete mechanical restoration with the addition of electric power steering and new paintwork. A 265bhp 3. 8-litre S engine replaced the original 3. 4-litre, and in 2010 its current owner took delivery, taking care over the years to maintain it rigorously, with major work carried out in 2010, 2011 and 2012, costing more than 50, 000 euros, including the addition of a Borg Warner 5-speed manual gearbox to improve reliability and fuel consumption. Electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust system were also fitted.
