A car that has been made more reliable for everyday use: - Electric power steering - 5 Getrag gearbox replacing the original 4-speed gearbox + overdrive - 4-piston front brake callipers for greater efficiency - Motorised fan - Gas dampers - More powerful starter Result: incomparable driving pleasure! It has to be said that, for some people, a car from the 1960s is a little difficult to drive. Here, the ride is supple, the braking is more than capable, and the gearbox gears shift without difficulty - a real treat. A complete restoration of the mechanical parts, including engine removal and fitting, was carried out in 2018, involving work costing almost €35, 000. The famous 6-cylinder engine, fed by two SU carburettors, was completely rebuilt by a local Jaguar specialist: cylinder head, engine block, carburettor. The same goes for the front and rear running gear, the clutch system and the electrical wiring harness, to name but a few. The road test during the appraisal enabled us to appreciate the performance of this like-new engine. As for the bodywork, it was completely rebuilt around ten years ago. In fact, the overall appearance is very attractive, with the bodywork, windows and chrome all in excellent condition. The car is fitted with magnificent 48-spoke chromed wire wheels with knock-off hubs, and the door sills, fender flaps, windscreen bays and windows show no signs of corrosion. The floorboards and rocker panels are in good condition, as are the rocker panels. Here and there there are a few traces of surface oxidation due to the car's regular use. Inside, the car's English green colour suits it perfectly. All the door trim, seat trim, steering wheel and dashboard are in good condition. There are a few minor signs of age-related wear and tear. The patina of the paintwork and the slight wear to the upholstery make this a truly charming car. All this with improvements and work that do not detract from the authenticity of the model.
