Hello, L'atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale today this magnificent MG C in a typically British configuration with its Conifer Green colour and black interior. The MGC inherits the MGB platform but is fitted with a 3. 0L 6-cylinder engine derived from the Austin Healey!
Produced in only 3073 examples in this left-hand drive Roadster version, it is relatively rare on the market, much more so than a Healey, a TR6 Pi or even a TR5. Agile and easy to handle, it is no less comfortable and will satisfy enthusiasts of pure mechanics with its 3000 engine, which combines reliability and sound with titanic torque and 147bhp!
Our example is a vintage 69, which underwent major mechanical work, as well as bodywork and interior work, some ten years ago, and is now in very good general condition and is particularly pleasant to drive. The paintwork is in good condition, the overall appearance is bright and there are no major defects.
The underpinnings are free from corrosion, and the chrome is perfectly shiny. The upholstery is superb, and the original carpets are in very good condition. The original steering wheel has been replaced by a wooden Motolita, which adds a decidedly British touch to the interior. The dashboard is in good condition, and all the instruments work perfectly.
The black vinyl soft top is new, and a hard top is available at extra cost. Mechanically, the car starts easily without noise or smoke, and revs up quickly.
The fuel system (tank, carburettors, pump, etc.) has also been overhauled and the engine tune-up is quite satisfactory. The gearbox guides and locks its gears correctly and the clutch has a good guard. The vehicle is fitted with an overdrive which requires servicing, although we can carry this out at extra cost.
An additional fan has been fitted for better cooling, and the radiator was replaced a few years ago. The running gear behaves admirably, with no abnormal play in the steering, power-assisted braking that is perfectly balanced, and suspension that does its job properly.
The wire wheels are painted in accordance with the original and fitted with Vredestein tyres which are in very good condition. Favourable technical inspection. Delivery possible throughout France.
