Description
Our M6 The BMW M6 we are offering is a very special example. This car is a BMW of American origin, which makes it unique in our offering. From its first registration in Illinois, USA, to the present day, this M6 has been through a captivating history that reflects its passion for speed and elegance. It's a car that not only delivers performance, but also has a story to tell. The BMW M6: an American legend Although BMW's M models are loved the world over, the BMW M6 has always had a special connection with America. In Europe, people drove the BMW 635 CSi, but in the United States they could order the M6, which had been slightly modified for homologation purposes. This particular example only had four owners, each of whom lovingly cared for the car. The detailed Carfax reports, from the day of delivery in Illinois, offer a glimpse into its rich history. This M6 left the United States via the famous Beverly Hills Car Club, and now it shines in our showroom in Katwijk, ready to be admired. An M6 in excellent condition The car is in particularly good condition. In 2016, a substantial investment of over $3, 700 was made, including the complete replacement of the suspension, air conditioning and clutch cylinders. We recently renewed the water pump and carried out a full engine check, so we can say with certainty that the engine is in excellent condition. This M6 is ready for many adventures on the road. A cosmetic showpiece As well as mechanical maintenance, we also restored the BMW M6 to excellent cosmetic condition. The car is still largely in its original paintwork, which underlines its authenticity. Small imperfections have been skilfully corrected by us, so that the M6 shines again as it did in its heyday. This car radiates class and refinement, as befits an M6. The story of this M6 It was 1989, a hot summer day in Illinois. The air was filled with the smell of fresh asphalt and the excitement of a new era in the automotive world. At La Grange Motors, a renowned BMW dealership in the heart of this motorsport-mad state, a gleaming BMW M6 was ready for its new owner. The city, known for its passion for speed and racing, was the perfect backdrop for this European beauty. As other customers gathered around the American classics, one man stood in front of the M6. He had no interest in the usual popular Chevy or Ford; his eyes were drawn to the refined lines, elegant curves and raw power that the BMW M6 exuded. It was love at first sight. In 1990, only a year after its purchase, the owner took his M6 to one of the biggest events of the year: the stock car races. The huge stadium car park was packed with thousands of cars, mostly American icons like Chevy Camaros and Ford Mustangs. The roar of the engines on the oval circuit filled the air, but outside the stadium, one car caught the spectators' attention: the BMW M6. There, between the classic American muscle cars, it stood - proud, elegant and different. The M6's deep black paintwork gleamed in the sun, while its wide, low bodywork sent a subtle but clear message: this is no ordinary car. This is European precision, power and beauty combined. While the racing continued inside, the M6 became the centre of conversation outside. People came up to admire the perfect lines and stylish interior. It wasn't an everyday sight in America, but for its owner, it wasn't just a car. It was a dream on wheels. The M6's life in America was more than just a presence on the racetrack. It witnessed many a drive-in evening, where the screen lit up while the M6 sat majestically in the background. She roamed the streets of Chicago, just outside the areas where the grunge scene was emerging. In the cold winters of Illinois, it remained a symbol of warmth and power, always ready to dominate the roads, even in the harshest conditions. After 13 years of faithful service with its first owner, the M6 was sold in December 2002 to a new enthusiast in Chicago. For three years, he drove what was already becoming a classic with passion and pride. But in January 2005, something changed: the M6 was sold, this time to a new owner in Raleigh, North Carolina. There, in the rolling countryside of the American south-east coast, the M6 glided effortlessly along the roads for four years. But the M6...
