Extremely rare Vincent Black Shadow C Series from 01/ 1951 - the fastest production bike in the world, that's a fact not a slogan! Philip Vincent's 'Black Shadows' are legendary motorbikes produced by manufacturer/ rider Philip Vincent from 1948 onwards. His aim was to build the fastest motorbikes in the world. The Black Shadow is considered to be the first Superbike. The A and B Series were the first, but the high point was the C Series, the most accomplished launched in 1948. The 998cc V-twin was the most powerful on the market at the time, enabling the machine to reach speeds of 125mph (over 200kph). This model has been in a collection since 1991. Its history is crystal clear, as we know the full story shared by 5 consecutive owners. Beautifully restored in 1991 by a renowned Vincent specialist (over 40 years' experience), it also benefited from a number of notable improvements: - 2 Smiths 5-inch counters - Black Lightning front brakes - Borrani aluminium wheels.
Apart from 2 minor defects on the fuel tank, the paintwork and chromework are in excellent condition.
