Magnificent Italian Renault 5 TL in perfect original condition. Includes original booklet with stamps and Italian export registration. The 5 was delivered new to Vercelli and imported to the Netherlands after 43 sunny years. The car was driven until 2020 and was discovered by a Dutch Renault enthusiast. He didn't hesitate for a second and immediately bought and imported the car. This is an unrestored Honest 5, where else can you see one in such beautiful condition? At the time, the R5 was an innovative compact car, measuring just 3. 50m long and 1. 53m wide, making it an excellent city car. It was fitted with bumpers all round and offered plenty of space inside. The design was superb and when it was conceived, women's tastes were taken into account, but it was also suitable for men thanks to the fast and rally versions. The exterior of this 5 is remarkably elegant and has retained much of its original paintwork. The doors close perfectly and all the stitching is correct. All the weak points have been checked in Holland, but the floors and underside of the car are in very good condition. The bumpers have been freshened up and brand new alloy wheels with wide tyres have been fitted recently. The interior is all original and uncannily clean. The seats are covered in the original upholstery and the fabric is very nice, with only two stains on the seat. You can see that the 5 has been inside a lot, as the fabric has not been affected by the sun. The dashboard has no cracks and all the gauges work as they should. The switches, steering wheel and sky are as good as new. The indestructible 956cc Cléon-Fonte 4-cylinder engine has an excellent reputation. Renault has built this engine into many models since 1962, and the 44bhp have no problem with the net weight of 744kg. The 5 starts instantly hot or cold and has a modern 1-2-3 ignition. Driving is great fun with the recognisable Renault sound and you can keep up with today's traffic perfectly.
