Description
I'm reluctantly parting with my emblematic and rare Alfasud Sprint in one of its most prized versions, the 'Veloce 1. 5 inox'.
The little Alfasud Sprint coupé launched in 1976 and designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro combines elegance, performance and sensations. Powered by an exotic four-cylinder flat-four engine designed by Rudolf Hruska, a former Porche engineer, it was the first Alfa Romeo with front-wheel drive. Key features of the Sprint Veloce 1. 5: -4-seater coupé -1490 cm3 flat-four (boxer) engine -Maximum power 95 bhp at 6, 000 rpm -Weight 910 kg.
-2 vertical Dell'orto twin-barrel carburettors -4 power-assisted disc brakes, inboard at the front -5-speed gearbox + short manual gearbox -Electronic ignition -Tires 165/ 70 R13 -Type 902A version 902A5 -Maximum speed 175 km/ h. Vehicle: The "Marrone testa di morro" coloured vehicle left the factory in August 1981. At the time of its purchase in the South of France in 2014, it was generally sound, with no signs of visible corrosion, was running well and, above all, had not been tampered with, but was clearly lacking in maintenance. Today, after renovation, it is in impeccable condition and in keeping with its original state. The numbers match, and the technical inspection dated 2023 has absolutely no remarks and remains valid until 2028. The distribution system was last serviced in June 2023, at a distance of around 2, 200 km. The collector's registration document is in my name. The odometer showed around 97, 000 km when I bought it in 2014 and around 3, 000 km today. Renovation: The painstaking and patient complete renovation undertaken was carried out both by myself and by various Alfa mechanics, bodywork and upholstery professionals. Being retired, I have a lot of time to devote to it. The aim of the refurbishment was to remain true to the original and, above all, to create a totally reliable vehicle that could be used safely on a daily basis without the worry of a breakdown on the road. The refurbishment was carried out over a period of 10 years, in successive stages. The selected components are inspected and then meticulously refurbished, even those that do not appear to be damaged or malfunctioning. Most of the replacement parts used are new, and no remanufactured parts are used. It would take too long to go into detail here on the operations carried out on the mechanical components, including the engine, gearbox and brakes, suspension, circuitry, peripherals, bodywork, exterior and cabin, which has been reupholstered. A digital file of around 15 pages detailing all the work carried out is available. A complete paper file of invoices for parts and services totalling around €12, 000, classified chronologically, will be given to the buyer. I will be happy to sell this car to a passionate enthusiast who will appreciate it and be able to keep it in good condition.
