Description
Austin Healey 100/ 4 BN2 rolled off the production line on 23 May 1956. The black bodywork, red leather upholstery and soft top are in keeping with the colour of the car when it left the factory. This car, which was destined for export to the USA, has only had two owners since new, and its history is well known. The engine and body numbers correspond to the BMIHT certificate of origin. In my possession since 2009, it has been fully restored from a new chassis. The only concessions to modernity have been those that improve reliability and operation, an electronic ignition has been fitted as well as an additional Kenlowe fan and a high performance starter. The engine has been completely rebuilt by a highly qualified professional. All moving parts have been replaced with new, inspected parts. The gearbox and overdrive have been dismantled, the pinions are new, all the safety elements, steering, suspension and brakes have been replaced by new quality parts. All parts in good condition (mechanical, bodywork, chrome) have been restored or repaired to a very high standard. The 72-spoke wheels are fitted with new Michelin tyres. The bodywork has been professionally restored to its original condition, with particular attention paid to the fit of the doors and front and rear bonnets. All the chrome has been carefully redone, and the wiring harness and all the electrical components have been replaced with new quality parts that match the original. The upholstery has been redone by a specialist, the soft top and tonneau cover are new in Mohair, and the Side-Screens are present. The car is in immaculate condition, and its impeccable running makes it an immense pleasure to drive. A voluminous file of invoices is available, as well as a complete photographic file of all the restoration stages.
