Hello, L'atelier des 1000 presents for sale this Jaguar MK2 3. 8 in a splendid Gun Métal livery with black leather interior. Originally from France and delivered new on 13/ 07/ 1965, this MKII has its registration papers in order. This project is aimed at a confirmed enthusiast with a good knowledge of the subject or good contacts in the field.
The vehicle is mostly complete with the exception of a few parts that are systematically replaced as new as part of a restoration such as the radiator or the fuel tank for example. A large batch of parts is supplied in addition and some elements are double or triple. This restoration was started by a specialist Jaguar workshop a few years ago and was put on hold following a cessation of activity.
The engine is matching and has undergone a complete rebuild. As a matter of conscience, the engine was reopened for inspection, the bearings and piston rings were replaced, the engine was re-sealed and the engine was started up for testing.
The gearbox is a Jaguar synchronised gearbox and not a Moss gearbox as originally fitted, with overdrive control on the knob. All the running gear, suspension and braking systems were also rebuilt a few years ago.
A new wiring harness has been fitted and will need to be connected. The Smiths instrumentation is present and the bodywork has been repainted in Gun Metal. Although new, the paintwork shows some marks from storage and would benefit from a partial respray before the fittings are refitted.
The body itself is perfectly sound and the 4 door panels had been replaced as new. Although some would prefer a complete overhaul, the original upholstery looks good with a slight overall patina, with only the driver's backrest showing a tear.
The chrome is supplied and in good condition. French registration. Delivery possible in Europe. We are asking €26, 990 for this car, trade-in and exchange possible.
