An adventure from America to Europe After 19 years exploring the endless roads and promising landscapes of the 'American dream', this MGB crossed the Atlantic in early 1994 to begin a new life in Europe. Like many of her contemporaries, she found a second life in the Netherlands. After a six-week journey at sea, battling stormy waves and difficult conditions, she finally reached the port of Rotterdam. There she was ready for a new adventure, in a totally different world. Her American roots continue to live on in the European landscape, with Dutch roads becoming her new playground.
Meticulous restoration by a passionate craftsman In its first years in the Netherlands, this MGB was fully appreciated by its new owner, a true enthusiast and expert in automotive sheet metal work. Working in a body shop, he undertook the complete restoration of his precious car with meticulous care. The result is spectacular: from top to bottom, this MGB is in exceptional condition. The doors, bonnet and boot are perfectly integrated into the bodywork, almost as if they had come from the factory - or perhaps even better. The craftsmanship that goes into it sets it apart as a classic of exemplary cleanliness.
The story of the MGB and rubber bumpers Introduced in 1962, the MGB is arguably one of the most iconic sports cars in British motoring history. Over the course of its production, the MGB underwent a number of changes, one of the most notable of which came in 1974 with the introduction of rubber bumpers. This change was prompted by stricter safety regulations in the United States, where a large proportion of MGBs were sold. The chromed metal bumpers were replaced by more impact-resistant rubber versions.
While these changes took purists by surprise at the time, the rubber bumpers have now acquired a charm and uniqueness of their own, particularly on MGB models from the last years of production.
