Description
We don't offer project cars very often but this Range Rover is exceptional and we are unsure what to do with it hence offering it as is!
It's an unusual project for three reasons:
1. It's a Suffix A with a mass of original paperwork history the original bill of sale and the original Passport to Service.
2. It had just one previous owner in its 50-year existence.
3. It has minimal corrosion and could be improved very easily.
The Range Rover was registered as OEY 565K and supplied on 3rd September 1971 by Anglesey's official Land Rover dealer, J. Henry Roberts Garage for the sum of £2, 189. 37 to Mr. Parkes of Stourbridge. Mr. Parkes clearly cherished his Range Rover as he kept every invoice throughout his ownership which lasted 42 years!
The supplied paperwork file for OEY 565Kis enormous, the history file is literally 40mm thick and contains the original bill of sales, the Passport to Service, all of the old MOT certificates, service invoices, and even the original 50 year old supplying dealer key ring and key number tag which is in as new condition.
The Suffix A really solid condition with no major corrosion. The interior is in usable condition but its not perfect. Currently, it is not running as the fuel is stale but I am sure that with an afternoons work we can have her running, driving, and stopping.
OEY would make a perfect base for restoration as no parts are missing and the history is extensive, personally, I wouldn't go too far, perhaps a just new interior, some mechanical fettling and tested for the MOT - I can't imagine anything nicer!
