Frame and engine matching numbers 24RDS 129 / GPA7 131 are confirmed by the Greeves Riders Association (GRA) Authentication Officer: “Your bike appears in the factory record. The engine you have is the original. It was dispatched to a Birkenhead dealer in May 1966”
This bike is ridden in CRMC Parades so is fully ready to go and of course has a CRMC eligibility certificate.
The engine has been rebuilt by specialists Nametab Engineering in 2019 and refreshed in 2022. A new NEB clutch has been fitted in 2022 which is lighter than the original. Nametab have updated the main bearings and added transistor ignition.
The five-speed Albion cam-barrel gearbox was rebuilt in 2019 by specialist Geoff Nunn.
The bike has a glassfibre fuel tank made by Roger Ennis in 2019 as well as an aluminium tank made by TAB II Classics in 2021.
Wheels have been rebuilt in 2021 with both front and rear wheels built on alloy valanced rims using stainless steel spokes as follows: Front: WM2 (1. 85) rims – with Avon 90/ 90-18 AM26 tyre and Rear: WM3 (2. 15) rims – with Avon 110/ 80VB18 AM22 tyre
The exhaust and silencer were built to the original shape by Abcon in 2019 and generally noise test below 105db unless the silencer needs re-packing.
The bike comes with and runs well on the original GP2 carburettor. However, to extend the life of this, it also has a Mikuni VM36, new in 2020 and the carbs can be exchanged very quickly as your mood takes you.
The drive chain is new and the bike comes with a selection of rear sprockets to fit gearing to the track.
Tachometer is a Scitsu and all cables are recent Venhill items as is the twist grip. Rear shocks are by Hagon in 2019.
Departure from original design is the use of Harris Performance GP Clip-on Handlebars Complete with Handlebar Tubes and Bungs which look great and the addition of a new Öhlins steering damper.
