Description
Suzuki’s peregrine falcon aka Hayabusa was created in 1999 to prey on Honda’s Blackbird top speed title. Its over 303 km/ h velocity not only established it as the world’s fastest motorcycle but also enforced an agreement between Japanese and European manufacturers for a governed upper speed limit of 299 km/ h. Its unique yet sophisticated styling with cool air ducts and its 1299 cc capacity immediately set the Hayabusa as an iconic superbike. Largely unchanged throughout the first 8 years of production of the 1st generation, the aluminum subrame was upgraded in 2001 with all steel to allow for optional power upgrades. The Hayabusa offered was ordered in 2003, the very first year Suzuki optioned a Solid Black finish for the European market, to become part of a private collection of preserved low mileage motorcycles. Its steel subframe allowed for a set of 500 bhp turbosystem by HAHN Racecraft that was sourced but never fitted to reach speeds over 330 km/ h. It is now offered as part of a superbike collection or separately in absolute original condition with only 3404 km since new.
