Description
In 1999 Harley–Davidson and Porsche collaborated to power the V-twin Racing Street Custom series of drag racing muscle bikes. Concurrently Harley-Davidson’s Vehicle and Powertrain Operations division later named Custom Vehicles Operations was created to develop special models including the V-Rod. Exploring the racing potential of its remarkable Revolution engine would become a joint project between CVO and National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock World Champions, Screamin’ Eagle/ Vance and Hines team. Through an elaborate series of revisions in the cases, cylinders, heads, cams, pistons and crankshaft the engine would boast an astounding 170 bhp that would secure a sub 10 sec quarter mile acceleration. Along with drivetrain, frame, suspension and brake modifications this motorbike was the fastest Harley Davidson ever produced in history. Despite being NHRA licensed, a skilled pilot would also require a wheelie bar and a safety tether in case he lost the fight with the 2Gs. A dangerous machine, the so called ‘Destroyer’ would only be produced in 646 copies with only 625 being released to private racing teams and collectors. The Destroyer offered was produced in February of 2006 to be later acquired as part of a private Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle collection. It is now offered in absolutely original, unmarked condition with its matching wheelie bar.
