This Lancia Beta Saloon can only be described as a true survivor. With its peppy twin overhead cam, 1300cc engine and manual gearbox, it really is a fun little classic car that is ready to take to the shows this summer. It produces 84hp which even by todays standards is very good and it really does sound quite lovely with a raspy and sporty exhaust note. Italian cars of this era don’t usually survive the tests of time, but this little car has been undersealed and tucked away for many many years. It has a lovely service history with lots of paperwork and old MOT’s, two keys and only two former keepers.
Our thoughts
At the time of this advert, we could not find another one for sale in the country - let alone a right hand drive one! and therefore it makes this a very rare car indeed. This car can be used and should be used in our opinion, whether it is to local classic car shows or just a sunday drive.
The bodywork is generally in very good condition with small blemishes here and there that is to be expected with a 45 year old car. Perhaps the most amazing part of the the car is that she is very solid with good door shuts and areas like door bottoms etc. It had been used sparingly by the previous owners and had been fitted with a new water pump, and headlights upgraded to halogen. It is a really genuine, unmolested and very original car throughout.
The interior is very nice and practical - the large clock ticking away on the dash and the styling is really nice with no damage. The seats have some wear holes that is the only thing that in our opinion could be improved but are still very comfy and have not lost their support.
We like to use and test our cars here at Ride Drive Store and we have throughly enjoyed being out in this wonderful little car, she has been to some shows and out and about with the MG car owners on a small rally with the finishing plaque to prove!!! Simply everyone who sees this car who knows a thing or two about cars comments on what a great machine it is and how has it survived so well.
