Description
For sale an eye-catching example of the late Austin Healey 3000 MkIII finished in (Dark) British Racing Green with rare (and original) optional Black leather interior. Built on 21st April 1966 this UK home market car was delivered new to H. A. Saunders Limited, Finchley, handsomely specified with Chrome wire wheels, a heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen and a Black tonneau cover.
The paintwork of PUA is in good overall condition and the car has been previously resprayed on the outside. Chip marks and visible blemishes can be found on the exterior but the paintwork underneath and in the engine bay of the car is original and relatively very good for its age. Remarkably even the floors on this car are original and quite solid. Bodywork appears to be all original panelling.
Moving inside, the optional hide interior is mostly all original having had some minor repair to preserve it. The carpets have been replaced and present well with some small wear around more high traffic areas but in general the interior shows well with a nicely mellowed patina transporting the driver back to the 60s. All of the gauges are original and operable, the 16” Bakelite steering wheel is the original the car was supplied with new.
The car has had a major service in July 2023 by Rawles Motorsport with new shocks all around, new front brakes, new servo, top trunnion bushes, bump stops, new brake master cylinder, full change of all fluids oil and antifreeze. The speedo shows 15, 915 miles.
Sold serviced with MOT, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, spare keys, tonneau, hood bag, jack, hammer, spare wheel, MOT history, V5 and hpi certificate.
