Description
Launched in 1957, the XK150 bore a family resemblance to the XK120 and XK140 but was radically revised. A one-piece windscreen replaced the split screen of the previous models and a higher wing line carried through the doors. The bonnet was widened and the screen frame was moved forward by 4 inches for easier passenger access. Suspension and chassis were very similar to the previous models. Rack and pinion steering, torsion bars on the front and leaf springs on the rear and Dunlop disc brakes all round. The 3. 4 litre DOHC straight-6 XK engine was Jaguars proven powerhouse but it was uprated with a new "B" type cylinder head.
This 1958 3. 4 is a very clean and matching number example and has been with its current owner since 2001.
The car drives and handles very well, the engine is strong, the auto gearbox performs well and the car has been exceptionally well maintained with plenty of invoices showing expenditure over the years. Recent works have included a front brake overhaul and sorting niggling issues like the fuel gauge and time clock.
Body and paintwork are both in excellent condition and the chassis and running gear are solid and clean making it easy to see how well the car has been maintained. The hood and headlining are also in excellent condition and the hood frame works as it should. The red leather interior trim is free from damage and look stunning.
Complete with its Jaguar Heritage certificate and a nice history file.
