Description
This exceptional, low ownership, 46, 000 miles from new original car has spent most of its life on Guernsey. This magnificent example was delivered new on the 28thFebruary 1986, supplied by Guernsey Jaguar agents Ruette Braye Motors Limited in Sebring Red with Doeskin hide, ‘Pepperpot' alloy wheels, electric sunroof and air-conditioning. The Jaguar spent three years with its first owner, and on the 25th August 1989 the supplying dealership Ruette Braye Motors Ltd Ltd supplied the car for the second time. Having had just two owners from new, the car left Guernsey in 2023 having spent over 30 years with one owner and was imported into the UK. The car was imported by Hurst Park Automobiles who then supplied the car to its one UK private owner, a local customer of ours in the York area.
As expected with such a high quality example the car comes with all its original Jaguar wallet containing owner's handbook, service book, maintenance handbook, electrical data chart plus a comprehensive folder of paperwork and spare keys. Even the original 1986 Jaguar key lock label is still with the car. The service book is impressive with supplying Jaguar dealership stamps in the book at 2205 (first service), the second service stamped and dated on the 25th August 1989, then further services with Ruette Braye Motors Ltd at 15034, 20673, 29370 and 34043 miles. A specialist on Guernsey then carried out two services at 38386 and 40265 miles and in the UK in 2023 and 2024 the XJ6 has had two services at 43967 and 44748 miles.
On arrival in England in 2023 its service included replacing auxiliary belts, engine oil service, new spark plugs, new shock absorber bushes, new exhaust silencer, fuel tank solenoid, steering rack gaiter, new A/ C compressor and air-conditioning service and re-gas. Hurst Park also arranged for the original sagging headlining to be replaced by a Surrey based car upholstery specialists. The condition of this car is quite simply exceptional, the bodywork is first class including the underbody that has never required repair work. The bodyshell in fact is outstanding in every respect and the paint finish and brightwork excellent throughout. The upholstery is of a wonderful standard commensurate with such low mileage and low, careful ownership and on the road the car is quite simply first class. The 4. 2 litre engine sounds and performs as you'd expect when just a few years old, the car holds road superbly, gearbox shifts up and down are smooth and the Sovereign Jaguar offers a quiet, smooth and comfortable ride. There are not many left like this and without doubt this is a car for the discerning buyer looking for a largely original, top class example
