Description
The new MGB sports car was officially launched at the Earls Court motor show on September 20th 1962 to worldwide press and public approval and cost £690 plus purchase tax. The MGB in 1962 was known as the mark 1 and had leather seats, pull handle doors flush fitting locks, disc wheels, cross ply tyres, aluminium bonnet, pack-away hood and the grey hood frame split into two to allow for storage in the boot. In 1963 as well as the folding hood mentioned above overdrive and wire wheels were offered as optional extras.
Our car is in superb order having previously been owned by a lecturer in motor vehicle maintenance who has the tidiest garage I have ever seen. Rare in early 'pull handle' guise, this car is the sweet spot for MGB enthusiasts being the right colour and fitted with wire wheels and overdrive. The body and paint are lovely with the best door fit we have seen in ages, it drives beautifully and would stand out at any car show. The history is extensive including the original buff log book and records showing that it has always been a local car.
Only available due to the limited mobility of the previous owner, we are delighted to offer the car ready to go and with a long MoT.
