Description
In 1974, Porsche brought to the European market a high-performance fuel-injected Carrera, the 911 Carrera 2. 7 MFI. This model was very close to the 2. 7 RS specification and is often referred to as the 2. 7 or Euro Carrera. In many ways this car is similar to the 1973 2. 7 RS with touring trim and the 210bhp 911/ 83 engine, but the 2. 7 Carrera is based on the updated G-series body and interior.
What makes this model so interesting and exciting to drive is Bosch's mechanical fuel injection (MFI) setup. The fantastic engine sound and instant throttle response have a remarkable feel compared to computerized injection systems of the 70s and 80s. The 1976 Carrera 2. 7 MFI was the last production Porsche with mechanical fuel injection. In fact, there were only three cars based on MFI technology produced by Porsche after 1976 and all of them were competition models.
We are pleased to offer this superb Porsche 911 Carrera 2. 7 MFI, a first of the “G”Series production. It was delivered new to Italy in September of 1973, it is finished in Grand Prix White over Blue Leatherette and it features a 5 speed manual gearbox and iconic Fuch’s wheels also painted Blue.
This extraordinary unit was subjected to a total restoration by the Porsche's masterminds at SportClasse, in Lisbon, Portugal, and it is a 100% original, matching numbers, collectors item!
