CBR Classic Restorations are pleased to offer for sale this Concours/ Event winning Jaguar MK2 3. 4 complete with Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.
Originally ordered and then cancelled by the Metropolitan Police Force it was manufactured on the 25th October 1966 and subsequently sold by P J Evans Birmingham on 1st August 1967. The car is numbered some 900 from the end of production in September 1967 of the MK2 and benefits from the improvements during its 8 years of production. The car has some 38 awards (see schedule photo). It has been chosen to represent the MK2 Register in the Jaguar Drivers Club Concours D’Elegance Champion of Champions on 4 occasions. In addition, has been to Salon Prive, Blenheim Palace and Goodwood Revivals. Its use has not been restricted to car shows and whilst retaining its excellent condition the car has done some 30000+ miles during the current owners 22 years of enjoyment. Tours to France (3 visits), Isle or Man, Isle of Wight, Ireland and many outings in the UK have provided pleasure. The car has been featured on the front and in articles of the Jaguar Driver Magazine.
The car was originally restored in 1990/ 94 and purchased by the current owner in 2001. Since then, professional servicing, maintenance and upgrades have been undertaken whilst respecting originality. A complete engine rebuild (unleaded head) was completed in 2005 together with the 4-speed manual gearbox being replaced with a manual overdrive gearbox. (the original gearbox retained for matching number purposes). CBR Classic Restorations carried out a full bare metal repaint in 2020/ 22 and has been responsible for servicing and maintenance since.
The car comes with photographic evidence of work done, an extensive invoice file and MOT’s for inspection. An MOT will be provided upon completion of purchase.
