Description
1974 Rolls Royce Corniche Fixed Head Coupe
Serial number: CRH16713
Engine number:16713
This Corniche is a wonderful, top-class example, which has had in the region of £70, 000 spent on it in the last 20 years which is responsible for its current pristine condition. This included a full original colour repaint in 2016 which brought the bodywork back to pin sharp before applying the fabulous and arguably best Corniche exterior colour. The fine shade of dark blue, appears almost black in some conditions with a glorious and complementary undertone of rich maroon when viewed in bright sunlight. The finish remains close to perfection and would stand up in any supercar company.
The car was featured on the front cover of the May/ June 2019 Rolls Royce and Bentley Driver magazine, with a seven page feature. A copy of which is with the comprehensive history file. Here you will find the car's full specification records, service history booklet stamped to 42, 680 miles in 1988 and with MOT certificates to suggest that the car's mileage of 85, 500 is indeed correct. The history file together with invoices totalling close to £70K show that previous fastidious owners have lavished care and attention on this Rolls.
Inside, the Corniche exudes sheer class in all its splendour. It is a wonderful environment in which to travel or be transported, representing the last word in luxury with the finest black leather, crafted wallnut trim, deep pile carpets and even deeper sheepskin over rugs. On opening the door the smell of classic quality materials hits you and this quality is confirmed by the vision of opulance seen and felt as you step inside. There is a sensible concession to modernity with a recent addition of a Pioneer SatNav radio and bluetooth telephone reciever fitted instead of the original ICE. (The dashboard can be put back to original if desired)
Finding a Corniche in such excellent condition is rare. The driving experience is totally as expected, with driver and passenger cossetted through the miles, with a powerful, unstressed and almost silent motor combined with the relaxed and perfectly smooth gearbox. It has just the right balance of magic carpet ride and road holding grip, all the electrics operate properly, the steering is light and direct and the brakes positive and firm.
Overall, this Corniche is a charming, elegant, reliable and timeless work of Rolls Royce engineering art.
