Description
The Alpina brand was founded in 1965. Initially a tuning company, it has grown into a specialist in producing exclusive, performance-oriented vehicles based on BMWs. It is very special that Alpina has developed into an independent car manufacturer so that they can use their own brand name and assign their own chassis numbers. To make the cars recognizable, Alpina works with subtle but distinctive styling features. In addition, they pay a lot of attention to the chassis and interior, creating a sporty yet luxurious driving experience.
Alpina has also produced cars based on the BMW E90 generation. However, one Alpina from this series is not the same: Alpina also produced a number of 'budget cars' at some point, such as the Alpina D3 with a 200 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine. The D3s are also often equipped with a standard BMW exterior color and, if you really have a budget Alpina, a fabric interior. Not really what an Alpina should be, for that you need the Alpina B3 Biturbo. You then have an Alpina based on the fine 3. 0 liter six-in-line with two turbos, or: BMW's B54B30. In the B3, after the Alpina sauce, this is good for 350 hp and 500 Nm, which allows you to sprint to 100 km/ h in less than 5 seconds and a top speed of almost 300 km/ h.
The most beautiful of the E90 series is of course the Alpina B3 based on the Coupé. The already beautiful lines are further enhanced by the subtle classic Alpina style elements such as the Alpina front lip, the beautiful optional and rare 19-inch Alpina Dynamic rims, four subtle exhausts, a modest spoiler and of course the Alpina logos on the trunk lid. This B3 is also available in the Alpina colour: Alpina Blau-metallic II. Fortunately, the famous Alpina striping is also present in this case and is available in white so that it matches the interior. Nice detail, the Alpina decorset is reflective. The unique combination of this immediately makes it clear to an enthusiast that this is an Alpina, while still remaining modest. 'Chic sporty' is perhaps the term that describes it.
The party continues in the interior. Naturally, the speedometer has been adapted to the new speed potential of the B3 and the dials have been given the beautiful characteristic Alpina blue color. But that is not the most spectacular thing in this specific interior. This B3 is equipped with a Lavalino leather interior. Well, that may need some explanation: at Alpina you have the BMW Dakota leather as standard and the nicer Individual leather as an option. Lavalino leather far exceeds that. A Lavalino interior is much softer and of higher quality in terms of leather: exactly the interior you want to find in an Alpina. That's why you buy a B3, among other things. This B3 is also equipped with nice options such as an electric glass sliding/ tilting roof, electrically operated seats with memory and heating, the 'Professional' navigation system, front and rear parking sensors, and a parking heater, to name just a few.
This Alpina was delivered new in 2008 and the car was registered in the Netherlands in 2021. The fact that the previous owners must have been enthusiasts is reflected in the car and its history. The car is in a very nice condition, the Alpina manuals are of course also present and are stored in the original leather Alpina case. The available maintenance history shows that the car has been neatly maintained by BMW dealers and specialists.
