Description
Power. A five-letter word that squarely sums up the 930 Turbo. At the correct rpm, in the correct configuration, and with the aid of its single turbo, this generation of the Porsche 911 spits out between 256 and 325 horsepower. In a rear-wheel drive, rear-engine car weighing in at just around 1, 300 kilograms, that is quite a punch.
Launched by Porsche in late 1975 as the culmination of a decade-old experiment with turbocharging, the 930 Turbo became an overnight hit and an aspirational car for an entire generation. The early non-intercooled 3. 0L cars eventually grew to a 3. 3-litres, putting out over 300hp in ROW versions, and were mated to a G50 5-speed gearbox in the model’s final year. To this day, the wide stance and ‘whale tail’ of the 930 remain all-time classics of automotive design.
This particular ROW car was delivered new to the Netherlands by V. A. G. Auto Vencken BV of Leyenbroekerweg. In 2007, it was sold to a member of one of the royal families in the Gulf, and later purchased by us in 2021. A very original example with just under 15, 000km on the clock, it has led an easy life being mostly on static display, and preserving a lot of its original finishes, including its Cosmoline wax in the undercarriage. In 2024, the car was mechanically sorted on our request by JZM Gulf and us, in order to be in good operating order. The car comes with its original manuals, spare, locking nut set, tools, and recent service records.
Asking price: $255, 000 USD
