Description
History:
Jaguar was the real sports car manufacturer in Europe in the 1950s. The Jaguar XK120C, from whose development the XK120 for the road emerged, won the prestigious Le Mans race in 1951 and 1953. And it was the fastest production car in the world at the time. Three XK series (120/ 140/ 150) were produced from 1950 to 1961. 3457 examples of the Jaguar XK 150 Coupé were built. This Coupé was imported to Switzerland over 25 years ago and was rebuilt and restored by its two previous owners at a cost of over CHF 130’000.
Body and paintwork:
The entire bodywork was sanded down to the sheet metal during the restoration and a completely new paint job was carried out. The quality is still evident today with a fantastic deep lustre. The gaps are very good. There are only two small stress cracks and corrosion in three places that are not clearly visible.
Interior:
The interior was completely refurbished in Zurich using certified original leather. This also includes all panelling, carpets and the fine wood
Engine and mechanics:
The ongoing maintenance is documented in the service booklet and with many receipts. Since the engine overhaul, the Jaguar has been driven 15, 000 kilometres. Some damage has occurred due to a longer period of standing, which should be repaired to ensure reliable use of the car.
Chassis:
The underbody, suspension and chassis have been maintained and preserved.
Driving experience:
Fast and comfortable - these are the characteristics of this surprisingly agile classic. The fact that a 65-year-old sports car can still keep up so well today surprises anyone who has ever driven such a car. The XK 150 has already proven just how good it is at several Giros throughout Central Europe.
Recommendation:
For exclusive tastes and lovers of a very special driving experience, this is the car for you. And a very loyal friend of the road, which it proved to the two previous Swiss owners for over 25 years. However, it now requires the necessary affection from the new owner in terms of technology and preservation. A cost estimate of CHF 16, 000 to CHF 19, 000 is available. The previous owner family no longer wishes to make any investments. An expertise is available and will of course be sent on request.
