History of the model and curiosities
The T-Type is a car produced by Morris Garages from 1936 to 1955 in various models. These series were the TA, TB, TC, TD and TF Midget.
The T-Types were sports cars with a separate chassis, front engine, four-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive.
The TF name was later reused for a mid-engined model that was introduced in 2002, the MG TF.
The TC Midget was the first post-war MG model. It was quite similar to the TB, and shared almost the same in-line four-cylinder engine with 1, 250 cm³ displacement and overhead valves. The main difference was the increase in the compression ratio to 7. 4:1, which resulted in a power development of 54. 5 HP at 5, 200 rpm. Many examples were modified to adapt to customer needs. It was only produced with one body type, a two-door roadster.
CT has also been exported to the United States. These models had modified headlights and chrome bumpers.
The body was approximately 100mm wider than that of the TB to provide more cabin space. The length was the same. The tachometer was installed in front of the driver, while the speedometer was positioned on the other side of the dashboard, facing the passenger.
