Description
The Hemmels Vault are incredibly pleased to offer this November 1979 ASTON MARTIN V8 Saloon IV (Oscar India) V540, fitted with a very rare Manual Gearbox. Offered a running and rolling project.
Only 293 ‘Oscar India’ Aston Martin V8’s were produced during its relatively short production period spanning 8 years. Only 13 Manual cars were produced, making this opportunity very unique and not to be missed! Only 40 V540 Oscar India's were produced out of the total 293.
ECX 476V was originally supplied by Reg Vardy Limited to a local Huddersfield businessman. Finished in Raven Black with Burgundy Leather Interior. It remained in Huddersfield for a number of years before finding new homes in London. The incredibly detailed history file shows long term ownership with a Film Producer in London from 1985 right up until around 2011. Included within the paperwork is an original invoice from 1985, showing the modest purchase price of £16, 500! Significant invoices during this time from the Aston Martin Works Service in Newport Pagnell, demonstrate a fantastic history. A number of AMOC membership letters throughout the years also confirm its enthusiast ownership. Also within the history file, is a number of ‘old’ tax discs, making a charming file, to be really cherished.
Unfortunately the most recent owner passed away, leaving the car stored for a number of years. The car has since been ‘un-earthed’ as a project. The engine runs, the car stops and starts and will form a great and very worthy basis for restoration. With its low build numbers and historical pedigree, we naturally assume that this V8 will be snapped up by an AM collector, and lovingly restored. Viewing would be strongly recommended.
Worldwide / Nationwide Delivery can be organised. We can of course, quote for any remedial works if required.
