You’ll probably all know the Calibra story, but just quickly for those that don’t, the more modern and front-wheel drive replacement for the Manta launched in 1989 with Cavalier underpinnings. Opel / Vauxhall didn’t want to miss the opportunity to create a rival for the upstart Japanese coupes like - you’ve guessed it - the Prelude. The Calibra’s USP was its aerodynamic slipperiness, a drag co-efficient of 0. 26 making it the most aerodynamic production car in the world in 1989. Great for making the most of its four- and six-cylinder engines, both in terms of fuel efficiency and performance. The Calibra also spawned stunning ITC / DTM touring cars.
This example is a 1995 Vauxhall Calibra DTM finished in Glacier White with the optional anthracite leather interior. Supplied by Warwick Shubrook Ltd, Yarmouth in July 1995, the car now shows 40, 721 miles and shows only 2 former keepers. We also have the full book pack, complete with the service booklet showing 8 stamps, most recently on 24th April 2024 at 40, 516 miles. The original DTM sales brochure and a bundle of invoices for parts and maintenance are supplied.
Outside the car presents superbly well - the Glacier White paintwork is in remarkable condition for its age, as are the BBS Glacier White alloy wheels. The mileage is commensurate with the interior which appears to show no obvious scuffs, marks or tears in the upholstery, and minimal wear on the steering wheel and gear knob.
The car comes with V5C, the original DTM sales brochure, various old MOTs, a bundle of invoices and a full book pack.
These Calibra DTMs rarely come to market, especially in such fine condition as this one. A straight, low mileage example with only 2 former keepers that has evidently been cherished throughout its life. This example would grace any collection with ease.
