The BMW E46 is the fourth generation of the BMW 3 Series, produced from 1998 to 2006. It succeeded the E36 and is renowned for its blend of performance, luxury, and handling, establishing itself as a modern classic. The E46 was available in various body styles, including saloon, coupe, convertible, and touring (estate), and came with a range of inline-4 and inline-6 engines. It introduced advancements such as electronic stability control and variable valve timing (VANOS). Praised for its driving dynamics, timeless design, and engineering, the E46 remains a favourite among car enthusiasts.
We are pleased to offer this 2005 BMW 330 Ci Sport Cabriolet in Carbon Black with cream leather interior. First registered in May 2005 by Wollaston Motors, the car has had 3 former keepers. The service book records 7 services. Last year a replacement gearbox and torque converter were fitted at 127, 239 miles, at a not inconsiderable cost of £3, 300. It has an advisory free MOT taking it through to next August.
Externally, Carbon Black is a classy colour for a junior executive, more a very dark metallic blue than a black. Being a Sport model, it benefits from the more aggressive bumpers, sills and gorgeous M-Sport alloys. Generally, the paint presents well but there is some corrosion just beginning to appear on the offside arches. The electric fabric roof would benefit from a deep clean but appears free from any obvious rips or tears and has worked without issue whilst with us. The interior is a sumptuous place to be with lots of leather and wood. M3 aside, this would have been the top of the range and that shows in the specification of this car. Amongst the goodies are heated seats, air conditioning, electric mirrors, automatic lights, multifunction steering wheel, sat nav and electric front seats with memory function. The boot is clean and contains the 6 CD changer.
Included with the car are V5C, current and some old MOTs, some invoices for parts / maintenance and full book pack with wallet. We have driven the car at low speed for our short tracking video and it performed without incident, displaying no unusual clunks or bangs.
For many, the E46 3 series was peak BMW - understated but handsome styling, compact size, superb ride / handling balance and strong engine line up. The best of the bunch have always been the big 6-cylinder powered cars and this 330 Ci combines that with an exceptional specification to give that true luxury feel. The opportunity of top-down motoring at the push of button really is the icing on this Bavarian cake.
