Description
For sale a previous multiple show winner with quite probably the largest history file we’ve ever seen. EBW 146B is a Phase II model Austin Healey 3000 MkIII built between 10-14th September 1964 and originally finished in Healey Blue Metallic with Navy interior. The car was latterly restored between 1991 and 1994 by Healey Specialists BK Engineering from the ground up.
During restoration the engine, gearbox, rear axle and indeed all mechanical and electrical items were refurbished alongside the body and trim. The car was painted from a bare tub ensuring better paint coverage than the original production lines and many new old stock BMC parts were used for a high-quality result. After restoration the car won the Austin Healey Club Midlands Centre Concours in 1995, 1996 and 1997 in some years even winning multiple classes. Excellent photographic and paperwork documentation of the restoration is supplied with the car and the car has received continual cosmetic maintenance to keep it presentable since its concours hayday.
We have known and maintained this car for the current owner since the early noughties with it receiving regular servicing as required including more major works when needed to keep it reliable.
A few choice modernisations are fitted to EBW including wider 5. 5” 72 spoke wire wheels, a brilliant sounding stainless exhaust, spin on oil filter, large core aluminium radiator plus some engine upgrades for performance and reliability.
Sold with MOT, four history files, Heritage Certificate, three sets of keys, jack, hammer, wind deflector, photographic restoration documentation, paper restoration documentation, concours certificates, service history, MOT history, previous bills of sale and more.
