Description
OFFERED for sale today by Martin Howey Classics is this delightful 1966 HA Vauxhall Viva SL. Super Luxury was the message here as Vauxhall offered the SL as a cut above the base model. Differences included a different and more complicated front grille, totally different rear light clusters with three separate lights positioned horizontally in each corner, uprated interior, side flash etc.
This example, restored in 2021, now has the more powerful unit under the bonnet as the owner opted to purchase a reconditioned later 1256cc Viva engine and give the Viva some more vroom vroom!
She was also treated to uprated and polybushed suspension as well as servo assisted disc brakes to the front. Some extra clocks including rev counter and oil pressure gauge have also been added.
She drives superbly and, in fact, was driven around 180 miles to me earlier this week without missing a beat. Solid everywhere she ought to be and a really, really pretty example both inside and out. Highly usable as a 60s classic which can cope quite easily with modern day traffic. Not to be missed.
I don't sell "second hand" cars; I sell extremely old vehicles which are, in the main, motoring antiques. Viewing is always encouraged so that you can see what you are getting. Your opinion and expectations may vary from mine. Then again, you could be in total agreement as the majority of my customers have been for the past 26 years. At the moment, the youngest vehicle in stock is 33-years-old and the oldest is 90!
Thanks, Martin. the details below.
