Description
History:
Sports cars in the 70s were either 2-seater - or beautiful. The Indy was and is both. Large doors invite comfortable entry front and rear. Four people enjoy the incomparably sporty acoustics and the power of the high-torque V8 engine. With a total of 1, 136 examples produced, the Indy is also one of the secret favourites in the classic market in terms of production strength. The Vignale-designed Indy will continue to experience timelessness in the decades to come. The example offered here was first put on the road in 1976 by a diplomat in Geneva and 40, 000 kilometres and 34 years later joined Switzerland's most famous collection of sports cars and sporty classics.
Freshly collected from the shores of Lake Geneva, this distinctively beautifully maintained Indy with original 50'000km mileage is looking for a new owner.
Body and paintwork:
The entire paintwork is uniquely beautiful, the clear coat was completely refreshed again in spring 2023. There is neither a dent nor a scratch visible.
Interior:
The high-quality leather was renewed by the second owner according to original samples and still looks like new.
Engine and mechanics:
The solid mechanics were regularly maintained and serviced by all previous owners. Recently the cooling system, the air conditioning and the electrical system have been overhauled or renewed.
Chassis:
Chassis drive train and brakes have been overhauled and freshly inspected. The original Borrani rims have also been turned out and painted.
Driving experience:
The Indy is a comfortable Gran Tourismo, which is also very fast. It loves long journeys and nice excursions, and it feels very comfortable both on mountain roads and on the motorway. The acoustics of the V8 are a wonderful accompaniment without being intrusive.
Recommendation:
For collectors and driving enthusiasts alike, this Italian classic is the right sports car, especially since Indy's are still available at comfortable prices. In recent years, as with most Italian exotics, there has been a solid increase in value.
This one is probably one of the best maintained in Switzerland.
