Description
This magnificent, highly original Lancia Fulvia Coupe S3 has covered just 21500 miles from new and has driven to us faultlessly from Leeds, West Yorkshire. Our highly desirable, UK RHD Home Market example was supplied new by Cooden Motors in St Mary’s Bay, Kent and finished in the stunning, rare colour of Verde Dublino. We can confirm with the comprehensive file of history is the original handbook in the original dealership envelope with the cars original warranty certificate. MJK 685R covered 7667 miles with its first owner in St Mary’s Bay over an eight year period before changing hands for the first time and from 1984 to 1989 the Lancia was used sparingly with mileage approaching 10, 000 by the 1990’s. The Fulvia was then placed in a private collection for almost 30 years, coming out in 2017 with 10450 genuine miles and in stunning, original condition.
Having come out of the private collection the Lancia was ready for a program of light re-commissioning work. From 2017 to 2022 the Lancia covered 8000 miles and was continuously maintained with no expense spared. Work included a brand new clutch and release bearing, new water pump, fuel pump, new tyres, carbs ultrasonic cleaned and diaphragms replaced, and the brakes overhauled with rebuilt front and rear calipers, new pads, hoses and various brake pipes. Other work included new drive shaft oil seals and various new service items. Lancia specialists Omicron overhauled the steering idler box with new bushes and seals and they also supplied a new engine gasket set, new gearbox output shaft seals and new coolant hoses. Cosmetic work included a brand new carpet set and the Cromadora magnesium alloys were powder coated. Since being purchased by the last owner the Lancia has covered 3000 faultless miles and has proven a delight to own and prior to marketing has been subject to some engine bay detailing.
MJK 685R is a stunning car, the car has wonderful presence and is finished in a gorgeous colour combination. The bodywork on the car is exceptional, the panels are perfectly straight and the underside excellent. The paint finish gleams and the car has the overall finish of a top quality, well maintained and dry stored original car. The interior is beautiful, the seats are in top class condition and are commensurate with the 21500 miles. The dashboard is stunning, the woodtrim and dials/ switchgear are all superb and the headlining, door cards and panels are excellent and original. The interior looks just a few months old, its remarkable how well its been kept. On the road the Lancia is amazing, the narrow angled DOHC V4 engine pulls beautifully and is super smooth, with discs all-round the brakes feel incredibly efficient and the car handles superbly with independent front suspension by wishbones and a single leaf spring and the solid axle with panhard rod and leaf springs at the rear. These cars come with a fantastic driving reputation and that comes as no surprise when out on the open road in this low mileage, exceptional car. These wonderfully designed Italian cars had many race and rally victories, and of course had victory at the 1972 FIA Manufacturers Championship. Although these cars make fantastic rally cars, this is more a collectors piece, a car to showcase, use occasionally and carefully own but without doubt, its fantastic fun to drive.
