We are very pleased to bring to market this charming Ford RS2000 ‘Broadstripe’ model finished in white with the black velour trim - a very fetching looking example and very desirable in white.
Being a 1976 model, this very smartly presented RS2000 is one of the first MK2 models to come to market and is one of the desirable pre-Custom ‘Broadstripe' models, distinguished immediately from its successors by the wide tape line on the body side. It has recently benefited from a full restoration, which is very visible when you look at it. The HPi and V5/ C show that the vendor is only the fourth owner since being registered in the UK in 1982. In theory, it should be on a ‘P’ or ‘R’ plate but it would a appear that the DVLA at the time put it onto the plate you see today, having spent its early life overseas (believed to be South Africa, as would befit a right-hand-drive model).
Around the time of its repatriation to the UK, the RS2000 was resprayed in white in 1983, a change from its original-specification yellow. It remains finished in white and is upholstered in black cloth with the correct RS-style alloy wheels and the Broadstripe in black. Bearing in mind the work carried out, it is perhaps unsurprising that the present owner rates the 2-litre engine, five-speed manual transmission, two-door bodywork, paintwork and interior as being in ‘good’ order. While the odometer displays less than 1, 000 miles, it must be remembered that there are only five digits on the odometer display, so this is not an accurate reflection of the actual mileage! This highly collectable fast Ford is offered for sale complete with MOT until January 2025.
