Description
Capots Vintage, a specialist in classic and prestige cars in Lyon, is offering an Austin Healey for sale, and not the least! This is a very rare version, the 100 BN1 model with the 4-cylinder engine, presented in its superb Healey Blue colour and navy blue upholstery: it's a real marvel. The reason Donald Healey chose to call it a Hundred was that it was aiming for a speed of 100 miles per hour. A fine performance for its time, behind the Jaguar XK120 but ahead of MG and Triumph, this car was delivered new in July 1955 to Yokohama, Japan, as attested by its British Motor Heritage. Fully restored by a specialist, it is in excellent condition: The underpinnings, bodywork, mechanicals, running gear, upholstery... Absolutely everything has been restored. In addition, the car has 'matching numbers' chassis and engine and has been upgraded with a 4-speed gearbox with overdrive, electronic ignition and a high-performance starter. It also has all the equipment: soft top, tonneau cover and side-screens. The car has just undergone a complete overhaul in our workshops.
