Description
This example (J3688) is in pristine order and was first campaigned in 1937 in various trials. Since then the car was used in sprints and races. In the 1980’s the car underwent a complete overhaul. A modified lightweight body and a series of J4 modifications were introduced to make the car more competitive. In 2018/ 2019 the engine was subject to a complete rebuild including new race pistons, a Baynton Jones race cam, gas flowed inlet manifold and uprated brakes. The previous Arnott supercharger has been replaced with a more reliable Marshall blower. Various other works were commissioned to enhance reliability as well as performance. All recent works have been carried out by James Ricketts of Mentmore Historics.
The car is ready to use and comes with a Buff form, spare exhaust options and 2 new Ensign Racing tyres and wheels.
