Description
Rare Chrysler Sebring. One of only 50 sold new in the UK by Chrysler. Economical 200hp V6. 55k miles. Full history. Totally immaculate, serviced by same mechanic for 20yrs. Fully loaded.
.
Finally parting with my beloved Chrysler Sebring LX convertible after 9 years of happy motoring. If you appreciate cars in nice condition, then you’ll love this.
.
It’s one of the original 50 sold new by Chrysler UK in 2001-2 and has been passionately maintained by the same mechanic from new. In a very handsome colour combination, she’s possibly the nicest UK example you’ll find. 55, 600 careful miles from new, she is now in need of a new owner who will continue to pamper and look after her. Fresh MOT till October 2025.
.
Black with Sandstone Sutton leather interior & a hard wearing Haartz sandalwood Twillfast 2 fabric convertible top. A really classy colour combination.
.
It comes with all the original Dealer paperwork and sales receipts, plus a large history file. It’s been maintained fastidiously all of its life.
.
A truly pampered car.. even the little things still work, such as the auto reverse cassette player and CD unit. The cruise control and Air Conditioning etc. Just had a service so blows cold.
.
I will be extremely sad to see this car go. I have no reason for selling it, apart from the fact that I simply have too many cars and not enough space. You can reliably drive this beauty across Europe with complete confidence. It’s taxed & insured and in current daily use, so I am not desperate to sell it. No engine worries, the oil has been changed frequently and the exhaust emissions are nearly cleaner than the air going in.. showing minimal wear on the engine.
.
She’s covered only 55, 600 miles from new. I have clocked up only 6, 000 of those miles, using her regularly over the 9 years from 2015 to present, but sparingly since my retirement. She’s been maintained regardless of cost and looks as good now as the day I bought her. Note: The previous owner is my mechanic, who maintained the car for the original owner.
.
This car will most certainly be a good investment from here on, especially with it being one of the original 50 sold new in the UK. It’s fully loaded and nearly everything still works. There are certainly far fewer of these beauties around since when I bought it. I doubt many with such a well recorded history/ pedigree.
.
Drive away and enjoy with the wind in your hair. Drive this car anywhere knowing it won’t let you down.
.
The Sebring will make a great top down cruiser, as well as a great year round daily driver. It’s a sensibly sized yank for our narrow streets, yet still a proper full 4 Seat Convertible ‘cabrio’.
.
The ‘new for 2001’ second generation model is a beautifully designed ‘sculpted’ looking car with not one unresolved body line in sight. A good example of Chryslers Millennial high point in design, carrying on from its Viper supercar of the previous decade where you’ll notice very similar design cues in the front end styling of the unique 2001-2003 Sebrings.
.
It’s completely original, bar having reversing sensors fitted and a remote battery cutout/ immobiliser. Great for security, but also incase the car has to be stood for any length of time.
.
It has the peppy and reliable 2. 7 liter DOHC 24 valve V6 driving through a four speed automatic overdrive transmission that shifts like silk, however it can also be used in a sporty manual ‘slap shift’ mode. Note: This is a real Chrysler USA designed and built car, not to be confused with the similarly named Sebring Coupe, which was basically an inferior Mitsubishi designed and built product. Nor is this model based on any Mercedes made parts, as Daimler were only just merging with Chrysler during 2001.
.
The 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX options include: A deluxe 150 Watt Harmon Kardon six speaker CD, AM/ FM stereo cassette unit, air conditioning, power driver's seat, cruise control, automatic powered convertible top, power windows, remote power central locking, power mirrors, telescopic steering wheel, 4 wheel disc brakes (recently renewed), & 16 inch aluminum wheels wrapped in nearly new all season radial tires.
.
The interior is immaculate with no tears or excessive wear on the beautiful unmarked Sandstone Sutton Leather upholstery. Note that this also has the rare matching dashboard colour and not the more usual black dash. The original carpets are also clean and unmarked. Immaculate Chrysler floor mats are also included. Seat belts are uniquely built into the seats, making rear access ‘seat belt’ free. The sheer quality of this Chryslers interior is so much higher than similar GM etc. This Sebring will make a great top down cruiser, as well as a great year round driver if desired. It’s a sensibly sized yank for our narrow streets, yet still a proper full 4 Seat Convertible.

Almost everything works as it should on the car. It’s completely original, bar having reversing sensors fitted and a remote battery cutout/ immobiliser installed. Great for security, but also incase the car has to be stood for any length of time.

Seat belts are uniquely built into the seats, making rear access ‘seat belt’ free. The sheer quality of this Chryslers interior is far higher than similar GM or Ford offerings of the period. The doors close with a satisfying ‘thunk’ and there are soft touch plastics everywhere. Meanwhile the Sebring drives like a sporty Cadillac convertible, really smooth and quiet, yet unmistakably yank. The twin airbag dashboard has a set of unusual white circular iridescent gauges that glow green and look super cool when driving at night. It has unmarked fake wood across the dash continuing into the doors with matching sculpted soft trim that again exudes quality.
.
The original Tape and CD player still work perfectly. The six speaker audio is stunning, with it being a 150 Watt Harman Kardon Infinity sound system with fully adjustable bass and treble. For quality sound, It blows the pants off everything else I’ve owned, either before or since!
.
It has lots of internal storage spaces and a massive trunk, even with the roof retracted. The convertible Haartz fabric roof comes with a nicely trimmed internal headlining and a durable glass heated rear screen, that still works! It is also completely weather tight with ZERO leaks. No damp carpets whatsoever.. a major point to be aware of, believe me, after owning several ‘leaky’ cars which can be a nightmare to fix.
.
It also comes with the original ‘parade boot’ or top cover, which is in ‘as new’ condition and is a quick snap fit. The exterior roof stitching is slightly worn here and there with a small split on either side that has been carefully repaired, however from a distance this is barely noticeable and it has been there since I acquired the car. Clearly after 23 years there is going to be some minor roof wear, however after a yearly deep clean the roof still comes up looking superb. A brand new Autoglym roof treatment kit is included in the sale, as I haven’t yet got around to applying it this year.
.
The bodywork is completely rust free, whilst the unmarked paintwork has a high shine after having had it mopped at regular intervals to remove the swirl marks. The headlights have been replaced also, so they have a good clear shine. The 16” alloy wheels are also in excellent general condition, whilst the underside/ chassis is still remarkably clean and rust free.
.
The car is mechanically excellent. The engine compartment and engine are in super clean condition with no leaks or strange noises. Note, It has been fitted with a K&N washable air filter. The oil and filter have been regularly replaced every couple of thousand miles, so this should be one of those motors that’ll easily clock 200k if properly maintained. My mechanic has informed me that the exhaust emissions are almost cleaner than the air going in, so that’s a very good indication of the engines low wear.
