Original Kawasaki Z650 from 1978 sympathetically customised to create a bike for the modern era...
• Fully rebuilt with extensive professional input.
• The front forks and rear swing arm plus the wheels and brakes are from the mid 1990’s Kawasaki Zephyr 750 allowing the fitting of modern tubeless 17 inch tyres and with updated suspension and brakes and modern electronics the bike is able to better exploit its full potential.
• Z650 Frame stripped and powdercoated, new tapered head bearings. Custom billet Zephyr headstock and swing arm fittings.
• Original Z650 petrol tank stripped, sealed (Caswell) and professionally painted to incorporate modern Kawasaki badging along with the original Kawasaki “ducktail” and Zephyr front mudguard all in Ducati Anniversary Red.
• Zephyr Forks rebuilt with new seals and Hagon fork springs, rear shocks are new Hagon adjustable.
• The Zephyr wheels and brakes have been professionally restored and rebuilt (Brakes by Brakemasters/ Powerhouse), new pistons/ seals and repaint, Hel Braided lines, EBC sintered pads fitted and master cylinders rebuilt. New wheel bearings front and rear, new sprockets and chain fitted.
• The Z650 carbs have been stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt with new accelerator pump diaphragms and K&N pod filters fitted and the carbs rejetted.
• Z650 Engine stripped and rebuilt with new crank and big end shell bearings and new IMD piston rings. Valves reground and shimmed,
• Starter Clutch renewed, new engine oil seals throughout. New Old Stock Kawasaki head and base gaskets used.
• Cam Chain Tensioner replaced (NOS)
• New MotoBatt battery (190CCA, 11. 2AH)
• New Electrex Reg/ Rec (RR10), and Generator (G01)
• New Dynatec electronic ignition and coils, new plugs, HT leads and plug caps.
• New Koso multifunction gauge electronic speedo/ tacho and warning lights. Koso GPS speed sensor and electronic RPM sensor. The bike is also currently fitted with a Garmin 595 GPS navigation system!
• New seat lock and fuel cap.
• New Guiliari style seat made by “Bob the Seat” of Brighton
• Wiring loom extensively overhauled and new terminals and connectors fitted as required. New (NOS) RH switchgear. New blade fuse box.

As you will appreciate a lot of money has been spent on this bike and it all comes together beautifully in a fusion of 1970’s style, 1990’s handling and braking and 21st century electronics. Purchased by me in 2015. At this time I believe it had been off road since roughly 2002 and clearly needed a little more than a recommissioning. The Zephyr running gear conversion had been done some years before but the bike appeared to have sat unused for some time and needed a lot of work. However, the more I dug into it the more potential it seemed to have.
Ultimately I carried out a comprehensive rebuild, restoration and my own extensive update to incorporate all the modern additions I felt it deserved.
