Description
This attractive UK supplied (C16) 993 was purchased by the Seller from Camtune in 2005 has been enjoyed for the past 20 years. There has been no expense spared when it came to maintenance from new; two Service books with an impressive 26 stamps from a selection of Porsche Main dealers and a selection of well known Porsche specialists. There are a further 7 stamps for brake fluid changes. The fat history file includes invoices for most of these services plus invoice for wheel refurbishment in 2017. In 2023 Addspeed of Horsham serviced the Porsche and replaced the V belts, cooling fan, undertrays and lower control arms with an invoice for over £4, 000. Most recently the Porsche was treated to its annual full service by Addspeed in April 2024, plus refurbishment of the A/ C system. It has subsequently covered just 87 miles. There are MoT certificates on file for most years, and the current MoT is valid until December 2024. There are further invoices and receipts in the fat history file dating from the 1990s to present. It has its original Porsche Owner’s wallet with books and 2 keys, plus there is also a car cover included. Ordered in attractive Midnight Blue with matching Midnight Blue leather interior it has Air Conditioning which is an essential option in the glass roofed Targa, plus Porsche’s reliable Tiptronic four speed gearbox. The interior remains in superb overall condition, with slight creasing to the driver’s seat but no rips or damage. The electric seat adjustment works correctly, as do the windows and Targa roof mechanism with its smart blind that disappears above the windscreen. The glass roof panel stows correctly beneath the rear window. The carpets have been protected under Porsche fitted floor mats and remain in clean and unmarked condition. The rear seats are immaculate and unused. Overall the interior is in well above average condition throughout, belying its age.
The exterior of the Targa presents well and the paintwork has a deep and attractive shine. There are minor stone chips around the nose, and tiny small rub mark on the off side rear wing. There is no sign of corrosion in the usual areas and the Porsche has had both sills replaced in the past. The lights and glass areas are all free of damage and the rear spoiler raises and lowers correctly. The split rim wheels were refurbished in 2017and remain in excellent condition with no curb marks or lacquer issues; the centre cap badges show some age but these could be easily replaced.
The front luggage area is clean and dry with no stains on the carpet, beneath which there is the space saver spare wheel and all tools. The engine bay is clean with no sign of leaks and evidence of new parts that correspond with the invoices. The underside looks to be solid with no sign of damage or corrosion.
With a lifetime of uninterrupted servicing, plus plenty of expense to keep it in top condition the Targa is a nice useable example of the most sought-after of the last air cooled 911s.
