Description
Ford Fiesta RS1800 – 130bhp
1. 8L EFI Zetec Twin Cam
First registered July 1993
Ford Fiesta
MK3 Hatchback
Now available for sale is my 1993 Ford Fiesta RS1800 finished in stunning Black (not metallic); the car is in fantastic condition and restored. First registered in July 1993, this example is presented in fantastic condition throughout; you’d be hard-pressed to find another of these in this condition throughout. According to ‘How Many Left’, there are less than 30 of these models taxed on the road in the UK today most are Mk3. 5, s. I have owned for over 7 years and regular maintained and serviced.
Equipment
Body coloured bumpers, dual tone horn, halogen headlights, laminated windscreen, long range driving lights, front fog lights, rear spoiler, factory fitted sunroof, central door locking, electronic boot release, tailgate wash/ wipe, digital clock, electric windows, original Ford tape player/ radio, with Tape holder and Standard 13″ alloy Powder coated wheels and diamond cut with aluminium centre caps. The car is an early Mk3 and does not have PAS or ABS so great drivers’ car.
Exterior
Finished in Solid Black, this lovely example had had a full paint and in excellent condition. Pin-straight panels with no damage throughout. All trim, glass and rubbers are in excellent original condition throughout. Decals are like new. We even have the original glass panels all around with the same production number printed each window. Both front wings also bear the original production stamps. Excellent, throughout.
Interior
Fantastic condition; the five seats are in great condition throughout, and remain in their original fabric. The side-bolsters remain strong and free of rips and tears. The seats alone really take you back to the 90’s! The door cards are in equally great condition. The rear parcel shelf is still intact and in great condition (with no sound system cut into it); another rarity in these cars! The instrument binnacle, switches and buttons all work as they’re supposed. Great condition throughout the interior which really belies its age.
Engine and Transmission
The 1. 8L EFi fuel injected engine with EEC IV engine management system produces 130bhp and 162Nm of torque. Performance stats of 0-60mph in 8. 1seconds and a top speed of 127mph mean the car can really keep up with modern traffic and means the Fiesta lives up to the ‘Fast Ford’ name. The 5-speed transmission works seamlessly, with the new LUK clutch as smooth and crisp as ever. The car drives as expected and a lot smoother than the Turbo engine. Also under the bonnet, we have the original Ford wheel brace and lifting jack. As the pictures show, the under-bonnet is excellent with full gasket refresh and Powder coated brackets and cam cover during restoration. All number matching.
Wheels and Brakes
Five, factory fitted, original RS1800 13″ alloy wheels powder coated and diamond cut with original aluminium centre caps and are in fantastic condition with no curbing marks or stone chips on any of the alloys. All four fitted alloys have matching tyres with plenty of tread all around. The RS1800 came fitted with servo-assisted brakes; 9. 5″ discs upfront and 8″ drums to the rear.
History File
The car comes with a folder full of previous MOT’s and pictures and receipts for work carried out on the car. Also included is the original Ford owner’s handbook for the car.
Additional Items
The Car was restored in March 2019 with a full glass out respray and complete underside of Car having all old Ziebart removed to reveal a bar floor, Etch Primed and 2 coats of Raptor body seal and 2 coats of black 2K paint. All Parts underside of car are powder coated in Black including rear axle beam, suspension arms but with red powder coating for drop links and antiroll bars. All Suspension replaced with new springs on 25mm Lowering spring to give the RS Look. New disks and fully rebuild front callipers. I have a fully documented photo album to see before and after of work done.
Also included in the sale is the October 2024 ‘Classic Ford’ magazine featuring a review of my RS1800 in April 2024 at a FordMeet show in Leeds, as well as a Haynes manual for the model.
Viewing in recommendedThe Car is well loved at all the shows i attend and the comments i receive make all the hard work to achieve the look of a standard car in stunning shining black. The car is a pleasure to drive and with it been an RS model has the performance for modern motorway driving. I average about 1000miles a year to shows.
