Description
All-original 1965 Ford Mustang convertible, with 200 horsepower 289 V8 engine and 2-barrel carburettor. It has electric sunroof, manual steering and original 3-speed manual transmission. It also has a new large and powerful battery. The odometer says 54574 miles but it is actually 154, 574. This is very low mileage for a 1965 car that averages about 218 miles per month or 2619 per year. It was driven a lot during its first 35 years and since about 2000, when we bought it, it has only travelled about 100 miles a month, or up to 10 miles a year. The engine is powerful and starts on the first try. Everything works, the brakes are good, the engine and transmission are good, the suspension is good. The only work the car needs is new paint, new chrome and a small amount of body work. With the new paint, new chrome on the bumpers and a small amount of body work, this car will be worth around 39, 000 to 45, 000 Euros based on the 1965 Mustang convertibles available with 289 cubic inch V8 engines and 200 horsepower 2 barrels with carburettor at this time in the EU. I believe I am the 3rd owner, the previous owner owned the car for many years and after his death his family decided to sell the car. I was friends with his 2 daughters, so I knew the family well. He took excellent care of the car. All you have to do is register it with the ACI and whatever else you need to register a classic car in Italy, because I haven't done that procedure yet. If the car didn't need new paint and new chrome I would ask between 40, 000 and 45, 000 euros. But I will lower the price depending on the paint, chrome and body work needed, which can easily be done anywhere in Europe. I imported this car from California in 2015, it arrived in Livorno and since then we have had it in Palaia, Tuscany. The shipping cost 5, 000 euros and the import taxes at the port of Livorno amounted to another 6, 000 euros. It has been parked for most of the last nine years at our farmhouse. I just had it serviced this week at a local mechanic in Selvatelle, PI. I'm asking 28500 euros or best offer. It is an all original 1965 Ford Mustang convertible, totally stock, with a 4735 cc (289 cubic inch) V8 engine with 200 horsepower and original 3-speed manual transmission with white electric sunroof. And it runs perfectly. You could drive this car in Tuscany, Rome, the Cinqueterre or Florence, or the Dolomites. What more do you need to know? Live the dream.
