Description
Porsche 912E 1976 LHD
Imported from the US (LA) in 2013 and taken to Carrera Performance in West Sussex where it underwent work including the removal of the smog system (originally required for Californian law where the car lived) and to be modified for life on the roads in the UK. A new stainless steel exhaust was also fitted at this point. Later servicing has continued with Carrera Performance and all receipts are kept from them. Separately I had new rear quarter chrome installed with seals and a new windscreen as well, along with a fuel pump and a refurbished odometer via Palo Alto Speedometer. I’ve owned the car for 11 years and have put on around 3000 miles, and when not being driven is garaged and covered.
The vehicle is mechanically sound but has not been restored so feels appropriate for the age and mileage. It has been unprofessionally resprayed somewhere in its past from the very 70s brown to black (pictures look better than reality). The steering wheel is also non-original and currently sports a Momo Protipo along with a modern Blaupunkt stereo and Focal speakers (including a compact sub under the driver’s seat).
The latest trip to Carrera Performance included rebuilding all the brake calipers as they were starting to stick and replacing the gear linkage bushings which has smoothed out gear changes. They noted that the rev counter has an intermittent fault that would need to be looked at.
