Last of the original SR500s.
Totally standard original and stunning SR500.
This bike has covered less than 7000 miles and as such is in beautiful condition.
The motor is super quiet with easy starting, slick gearbox and light clutch operation.
The original pumper carb carburation is spot on and gives smooth responsive feed to the unbelievably torquey motor.
Everything this bike left Yamaha with still adorns the bike, including all cable clips and ties etc.
The original (then high tech) Yamaha self cancelling indicator system still works perfectly, as do the instruments, the clock needles are the most stable I have ever seen on any motorcycle.
Behind the locking side panel are the original tools and they have the very rare valve feeler gauges which were concealed in a separate part of the original tool pouch.
The genuine exhaust (including collector box) is perfect as are all the components on this stunning motorcycle.
Apart from finding a forgotten new SR500 in a crate somewhere, I don't think you would find another in this beautiful condition.
This one is among the last of what was my 35 bike collection.
Saving the best until last is certainly applicable in the case of this great motorcycle.
The v5 is present and in my name and it is also on historic status, so.... No tax or MOT! the original owners manual is also here with the bike.
