Description
I bought this Sprite from a private seller in 2001. He cried when handing the key over and I’ll probably do the same.
This car has had 2 former owners. It has always been kept garaged by me and only ever driven in dry weather.
The Old English White paintwork is in generally good condition. There are a few small spots of superficial rust as pictured. The sills which are a common weak spot with this model are sound.
The car has a steel bonnet which is extremely heavy. I’ve not needed to lift it too often though as it has always been very reliable.
The interior is red and the original dashboard shows some marks in keeping with its age.
Rust has broken through all chrome parts on the vehicle as pictured and the grille is damaged as pictured. All chrome parts are replaceable and are readily available from suppliers such as Austin Healey Spares.
I have a file with some history, tax discs and the original driver’s handbook.
The most recent MOT expired in 2022. There were no advisories at that time. I bought this Sprite because I wanted a second vehicle that would be fun to drive at weekends and it has certainly delivered. It is a characterful car that gets plenty of attention wherever it goes.
I’ll be sad to part with this car but since taking up scuba diving and paddle boarding it no longer meets my weekend lifestyle needs to carry all the kit around.
