Description
The Dinalpin A110 Berlinettes were built under licence in Mexico by the Dina Truck Company. Around 500 cars were produced, a good proportion of which were sold in the USA. Early A110 bodyshells were used and the cars assembled using mostly Dieppe supplied parts.
This car was imported from Los Angeles in 2008 and sensitively restored in the UK by the previous owner to me.
I'm the second owner in the UK and have continued to improve the car by installing a high specification R5 Gordini type engine with forged 77mm pistons and forged rods, an uprated cam, vernier timing gear, new distributer, cylinder head with bronze guides and new valves, built into a GT turbo block, all put together by the respected John Law (JL Engineering) and producing approx 125hp. Car has done approx 1000 miles since engine rebuild.
The gearbox is a Steve Swan 4 speed unit and a new clutch assembly has just been fitted.
Rear hubs have the twin roller bearing conversion.
Front hubs have uprated brakes and the car stops beautifully.
The standard radiator has been refurbished using a tripe core unit. A new Mecaparts stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted.
The interior has sports seats, and a Nardi steering wheel, along with non-original instruments including a GPS speedo. The original instruments are sold with the car but require restoration.
Bodywork is in very good condition.
A set of Mexican 'Brahim' alloys are included in the sale.
All in all a good usable car which attracts attention wherever it goes, is great fun to drive and a low cost way into A110 Berlinette ownership.
