The Attractions
One of the most famous and admired rally cars of all time, the Alpine A110 Berlinette was launched in 1962, with a low, compact body made of plastic materials, the work of Giovanni Michelotti, distinguished by its unmistakable front end with four headlights and a huddled passenger compartment with sloping rear window. Just 1.13 metres high and 3.85 metres long, it was agile and extremely light.
In 1969 the A110 1600 S was launched, with a four-cylinder aluminium engine derived from the Renault 16, which would make a sensation in international rallies, winning all over Europe during the 1970-1972 seasons and winning the International Makes Championship in 1971 and the first World Rally Championship in 1973.
Resplendent in its iconic blue livery, this particular 1971 Alpine A110 is equipped with the most powerful 1.6-litre engine with two Weber carburettors, was prepared for historic rallies and hill-climbs, and is FIA GT20 Class homologated. It has participated in numerous competitions throughout Europe and has always been maintained with care and expertise by its four previous owners. It is also duly licensed and registered for road use, and the racing components can be removed.
Registered with Asi and accompanied by a wealth of spare parts and special components, including a complete engine, Gotti wheels and original seats, this splendid Alpine represents an unmissable opportunity for racing car enthusiasts and sports driving enthusiasts.
