History.
Supplied new by Ford main dealer Mitchells in Hailsham,
East Sussex to its first owner.
This example has a fantastic history file. Included in the original Ford driver’s pouch;
Ford Service Plan book containing dealer service stamps, Ford Escort Owner’s Handbook, Accident Repair Guide, Audio Systems Operating Guide and Service Dealer Directory.
Also supplied is an original A4 Ford Escort RS2000 sales brochure, a collection of tax discs, service invoices, MOT’s, original dealer rear number plate, 3 keys (1 with the original dealer keyring).
Bodywork.
Finished in eye catching, shiny Pacifica blue.
Not completely concourse with a few scratches and minor dents. Small area of undercoat paint has been applied under the petrol cap area to avoid spread of rust.
There is also a small hole behind the battery where water I think ran off/ through the windscreen drain plastic grill.
It has been rust treated, but needs a weld patch repair.
Interior.
Factory fitted glass sunroof winder works perfectly with sliding panel. Internal roof fabric shows no signs of leaks or staining.
The three spoke power steering wheel still has it's factory grain.
The rear parcel shelf has no speaker holes.
The dark grey RECARO sports seats are finished in Panache velour and in excellent condition with no cig burns or tears. The side bolsters have not lost shape.
Whilst the rear seats show little to no use.
The dashboard shows no cracks and all instruments work . The dark grey carpet shows virtually no wear and is protected by floor mats front and rear (genuine rubber Ford mats only in the rear).
I still have the original 2007 RDS radio as the vehicle currently has an Alpine CDE-9846R CD receiver fitted.
Engine and Transmission.
The 2. 0 DOHC EFi 16-valve engine produces 150 BHP and has benefited from an oil and filter change, new NGK spark plugs, VARTA 12v battery, Lucas starter motor/ drive belt, coolant fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid.
The engine bay retains all the factory labels and finished to a reasonable standard.
I have a boxed reconditioned Lucas alternator which I am happy to sell with the vehicle.
Wheels and Tyres.
The polished alloy wheels show no curbing with matching polished centre caps. The 15ins. alloy wheels are wrapped in matching Pirelli P6000 195/ 50 82V tyres. The spare matching alloy wheel is stored in the boot.
RS locking wheel nuts on each wheel with locking wheel nut adaptor supplied. Rare genuine, low mileage example. Needs to be seen to fully appreciate.
A great future investment.
